Fiat has released details about the Fiat Punto Evo, the evolution of the Grande Punto, will make its debut at the next Frankfurt Motor Show. The Fiat Punto Evo comes with a wide choice of Euro 5 engines, including a 1.3 second generation Multijet diesel and a 1.4 petrol engine with the revolutionary MultiAir technology developed by Fiat Powertrain Technologies and eventually to be incorporated in all Fiat Group engines.

The new Punto Evo also offers Start&Stop, the system that switches off and restarts the engine in stop-and-go traffic. Start&Stop is being introduced as standard on all Euro5 petrol and diesel engines. Another system making its first appearance on the Punto Evo is “Blue&Me-TomTom”, the new portable satellite navigation unit that lets you manage telephone, navigation and information functions on a practical colour touch-screen.

Renault has confirmed that will launch a new saloon, Fluence and will be built on the existing assembly line at the Oyak-Renault plant in Bursa, Turkey, where the previous Mégane II saloon was produced. Renault Fluence comes with a 4,620mm long, 1,809mm wide, 1,479mm high and a wheelbase of 2,702mm, 530dm3 of boot space, more passenger space than any major rival, including 1,480mm of elbow room at the front and 1,475mm at the rear.

From launch, and depending on market, Renault Fluence will be available with a wide range of thrifty engines which are all a pleasure to drive. Two petrol engines, each available in two versions: 1.6 16V 110hp, with manual or automatic transmission and 2.0 16V 140hp, with manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT). Renault Fluence also comes with a choice of five variants of the 1.5 dCi diesel engine: dCi 85, dCi 90 DPF, dCi 105, dCi 110 DPF3, dCi 110 DPF with a new dual clutch transmission (DCT), available from the end of 2010.

Renault Fluence goes on sale in Turkey from November and will benefit from the Mégane II saloon’s class-leading reputation in three best-selling markets: Turkey, Russia and Romania. There are no plans to commercialise Fluence in the UK.

BMW has revealed the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept, the dynamic look of a BMW sports car to a hybrid vehicle. Measuring 181.1″ in length, 74.8″ in width and 48.8″ in height, BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept offers ample space for up to four passengers and their luggage. The BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept car clearly demonstrates the potential of BMW ActiveHybrid technology, which makes its world debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show in the BMW ActiveHybrid X6 and BMW ActiveHybrid 7 production models.

The BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept powertrain provides a top speed limited electronically to 155 mph, with acceleration to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. Engine output is 163 hp with peak torque of 214 lb-ft. Average fuel consumption in the EU test cycle is 3.76 liters/100 kilometers, equal to 62.6 mpg, and the CO2 emission rating is 99 grams per kilometer. For a short time, such as in passing maneuvers, the cumulative maximum output of all three engines increases to 356 hp, with maximum torque generated by the three engines reaching 590 lb-ft.

BMW Vision EfficientDynamics comes with a total of 98 lithium-polymer cells, each offering a capacity of 30 amp/hours and developing continuous output of 600 Amps at a voltage of 3.7 V. For a period of 30 seconds, each cell is even able to develop maximum output of 1,200 Amps. Serial arrangement of the lithium-polymer cells serves to generate nominal voltage of 364 volts, the gross storage capacity of the battery is 10.8 kW/h. With an unusually high discharge capacity of 80 percent, the battery delivers 8.6 kW/h for driving the car. This superior performance comes on overall weight of the entire energy storage system of just 187 lb.

The EB 16.4 Veyron Sang Noir is a special edition, created for the true automotive connoisseur. The face of the EB 16.4 Veyron Sang Noir is instantly recognisable due to the iconic horseshoe grill, finished exclusively in chrome.

This striking and unparalleled harmony between luxury and sportiness is complemented by alloy-coloured details in the form of the chromed Bugatti grill and door-mirrors, as well as polished wheel surfaces and roof-rails. All-black front lights, air intakes, filler caps and door-handles naturally heighten the stunning effect of the racing-blue brake callipers.

Of the Bugatti EB Veyron 16.4 Sang Noir 15 cars will be built and offered in Europe, the Middle East and the United States.

BMW has shown super car Vision EfficientDynamics



BMW has published official photos new concept Vision EfficientDynamics. It shows to us how according to the Bavarian engineers, sports cars some will look in near future. To count that Vision EfficientDynamics will appear on our roads, it is not necessary. And it is a pity – the car looks is more tremendous, and not only during movement, but also at rest. After all here doors open on type «a side panel of a seagull» (usually such "counter" competitors from a Mercedes-Benz used). From technical point of view Vision EfficientDynamics too it is very interesting. In movement this sport car is resulted at once by three engines! The core is the diesel engine to which is helped by two electromotors. And a diesel engine here not idle time – it has only three cylinders and volume of 1,5 l. But thanks to the current technologies this motor gives out essential 163 h.p. and 290 Nm.





As to electric motors, they too the uneasy. One of them helps a diesel engine to rotate a rear axle (it gives out 38 kw, or approximately 51 h.p., and 290 Nm). And here the second electric motor works independently, and it already twists a front axle. Capacity of this motor can be different. At quiet movement it is a question about 60 kw (81 h.p.), but at speedup capacity grows to 82 kw (110 h.p.) and even to 104 kw (140 h.p.) . However, the motor is capable to develop 104 kw only throughout 10 with. But for overtaking of it should suffice. In city conditions Vision EfficientDynamics is capable to pass only on one electropull-rod to 50 km. On assurances of representatives BMW, full gymnastics lithium-ion of accumulators from the usual electric socket connection occupies 2,5 hours. But it is possible to use special stations of additional charge which have pressure in 380 volt. In this case accumulators will be charged all for 44 minutes. Average fuel consumption of German super car makes only 3,7 l of solar oil on 100 km of a way. Probably, for this reason fuel tank Vision EfficientDynamics has volume only 25 l. But it should suffice that the car with completely charged accumulators has passed at once 700 km! Amazing result. And what you think about it?

Audi will receive motor in volume of 1,2 l



Company Audi has decided to establish on the cars the engine in volume only 1,2 l. It is a question of the petrol unit 1,2 TFSI with a turbo-supercharging which gives out 105 h.p. and 175 Nm (at 1500-3500 rpm) – it will receive 3-doors hatchback Audi A3 and 5-doors A3 Sportback. In Audi perfectly understand that the car of a premium-class with a motor in volume of all in 1,2 l at first sight looks not so well. However thus Germans underline that such А3 0-100 km/h for 11,1 will be capable to be dispersed with (for 3-door А3, 5-doorsj Sportback will type one hundred for 11,3 sec). And the maximum speed of models will make 190 km/h. Indicators, in general, quite tolerable. Thus fuel consumption 1,2-litre «Audi A3» will make only 5,5 l of gasoline on 100 km. And the price similar A3 should be very interesting.

Dacia launch possible in 2010 (UK)


Renault’s managing director has refused to rule out a UK launch for its budget brand Dacia. Roland Bouchara said in an exclusive interview that the company has only put off the launch of the brand in the UK due to the Pound’s weakness against the Euro and he said the situation would be looked at again in 2010.

“The weakness of the Pound meant we had to cancel the planned launch of Dacia,” said Bouchara. “There was no way it could be sold at a profit.”

The Pound has been recovering rapidly since its drop last year and earlier this year, and Bouchara expects that recovery to continue into 2010. If a Dacia launch were to happen, it would include a range of cars rather than single models such as the Sandero.

“Dacia will soon have a full range of cars, which would spread the cost of a launch,” said Bouchara. “We will take another look at it in 2010.”

Dacia's UK launch has been put off since 2008 due to the very delicate state of the British economy, which is now stabilising.

If you’ve been following the motoring scene closely you’ll remember back in early 2008 there was another concept car with the exact same name but with a much less radical body. Come to think of it the design was probably inspired by the GINA concept. 2008’s Vision EfficientDynamics Concept was built using the body of an X5 but featured a 2.0 liter twin turbodiesel (from the 123d) with 204hp mated to a 15kW electric motor.

It is no surprise that Audi A5 Sportback adopts the sports gear of S4 or the S5 convertible to become S5 Sportback. That it has from now on V6 3.0L with compressor of 333 horses with 5500 trs/min which exempts some 440 Nm of couple between 2900 and 5300 trs/min.
The S-Tronic gear box with 7 reports/ratios is part just like the true Quattro transmission.
