Hot Cars For 2010

A new year is always an exciting time in the automotive industry. Manufactures have been hard at work developing new cars to unleash onto the market. There is more importance than ever riding on the release and success of these new cars because of the poor economy. Each car company is hoping to have the newest, hottest car out there that can boost them back into the black. 2010 is no different - all of the car companies have introduced new models, so let's take a look at some of the best!

Let's start with the BMW 3-series. This car has been on Car and Driver's top ten list for about 19 years running now. The 2010 model comes as a 2-door coupe, convertible, 4-door sedan and wagon. This incredibly versatile car can come with some incredible power - up to 265 horsepower. A manual transmission has an average of 24 mpg, not too shabby for a sports model car.

The next car on the list is the Ford Fusion Hybrid. "Green" is all the rage when it comes to vehicles and the Fusion has been making a steady climb. It has been rated to have one of the best integrated electric-fuel systems on the market. The Fusion has been said to drive much better than the Prius, making up for its higher price tag. The four cylinder engine comes standard at 2.5 liters. The most praise this car has received is how drivers don't even notice when the gasoline kicks in - the transition is seamless. This hybrid will get you between 35 and 40 mpg, lower in a city setting. This isn't for the mpg-obsessed driver but for a driver who wants the complete package.

The Honda Accord also makes the list for hot cars in 2010. This car has been making the list for an impressive 24 years now. The Accord has a reputation of being a reliable, easy, fun car that many drivers love. The V6 model comes with an impressive 271 horsepower, enough for that sports car lover in all of us. This car will get you about 22mpg city and 31mpg highway, which is pretty average for its class. The Accord isn't the most fuel efficient or the most impressive when matched up with competitors but it offers a total package at a great value to consumers.

Another exciting car that is doing well in 2010 is the Mazda 3. This car handles well and grips the road but has that little burst of power that makes it so much fun to drive according to road testers. The four cylinder, 2.5 liter engine gives the driver about 167 horsepower. Not the most powerful out there, but this car still offers good fuel efficiency. The Mazda 3 is going to get you about 24mpg city and 33 highway. This little powerhouse offers drivers looking for efficiency and fun all rolled up in one pretty little package.

There are obviously many more models out there to check out but these are just a few to get your appetite revving. Do some research and know exactly what you are looking for before you hit the lots. This will ensure that you will walk away with a car that you love and fits every single one of your needs and wants.

Tramontana R Edition - Pictures and Video

The super cool, super quick Tramontana R Edition car is an evolved version of the standard open-wheel 2 seater, packing a Mercedes-sourced 5.5-liter V12 available in either naturally aspirated, 550 hp guise or a twin-turbocharged 760 hp version that dolls out an astonishing 811 lb-ft of torque. It does 0-100 kph in 3.6 seconds and gets 200 kph in a 10.15-second run. Price tag is a credit busting €385,000 but its one hell of a cool car as these pictures and video below show.

The wheelbase has been shortened by 50mm to improve handling and aerodynamics, and weight is down by 202 pounds to just 2,777 pounds. The R stretches 192 inches from nose to tail, is 82 inches wide and 51 inches tall, and weight distribution is a perfect 50:50 left to right and 42:58 front to rear.

Tramontana fitted 20-inch carbon fiber and magnesium wheels at each corner, along with high-performance summer rubber sized 245/40 in front and 335/30 in the rear. 380mm, six-piston Brembos handle stopping duties, while a custom Ohlins suspension allows the R's ride-height to be adjusted between 85 and 135 mm.

The body speaks for itself, as does the exposed carbon fiber interior, which features a chop-top steering wheel, an LCD instrument panel and the controls to the six-speed sequential gearbox.

Production will be limited to 12 units per year with a price tag of €385,000 ($495,000).
