Nissan just unveiled the 2011 Murano CrossCabriolet teaser image and announced that the new version of the model will have its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in two days time. On the 17th of November, 2010,
The new trim will carry the marquee of Murano CrossCabriolet and will shed two-doors. The press release from Nissan proclaims the Murano will be, "the world’s first all-wheel drive crossover convertible.” featuring room for four adults along with space for assorted gear such as golf clubs or luggage. Here at Family Car Guide, we think that qualifies the new Murano CrossCabriolet as a family vehicle. But the idea of a high-riding, wind in your hair, vehicle has been seen before. The Jeep Wrangler, Land Rover Defender and even the Geo Tracker all offered soft-tops. Of course they are not called crossovers and they do not have folding roofs, but the concept is similar.
Power will likely be provided by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 260 hp (194 kW / 264 PS) and 240 lb-ft (325 Nm) of torque. It is expected to be mated to a CVT transmission and front-wheel drive (all-wheel drive will be optional).
